Recipe Of The Week

The Holiday Yule Log is a light, chocolatey sponge cake rolled with sweet whipped cream and topped with rich chocolate “bark.” It looks impressive, tastes incredible, and instantly brings Christmas cheer to any Wisconsin kitchen.

🎁 Ingredients (Serves 8–10)

For the Cake:

• 4 large eggs, separated

• ⅔ cup granulated sugar, divided

• ¾ cup all-purpose flour

• ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder

• Pinch of salt

• 1 tsp vanilla extract

For the Filling:

• 1 cup heavy whipping cream

• 2–3 Tbsp powdered sugar

• 2 Tbsp cocoa powder (optional, for a chocolate-cream filling)

For the Chocolate Icing (“Bark”):

• 4 oz semi-sweet chocolate

• 2 Tbsp butter

Optional Decorations:

• Powdered sugar (for a “fresh snow” look)

• Fresh berries or sugared cranberries

• Chocolate curls or shavings

1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
