Families in western Kenosha County are eagerly anticipating the unveiling of the newly renovated playground at Old Settlers Park.

This revitalized space promises enhanced accessibility and safety features, ensuring that children of all abilities can enjoy the park.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony is scheduled for June 11 at 5:30 p.m. at Old Settlers Park, located at 24100 75th St.

County Executive Samantha Kerkman and Parks Director Wyatt Moore are expected to attend, highlighting the community's commitment to inclusive recreational spaces.

Key additions to the playground include a wheelchair transfer slide and an accessible rocker, designed to accommodate children with diverse needs.

Notably, the park now features its first poured-in-place playground surface, offering a smoother, roll-on experience that enhances mobility throughout the area.

These improvements reflect a broader initiative to prioritize playground accessibility and safety in Kenosha County.

Following the ceremony, attendees are invited to stay for the kickoff of the 2026 Rhythm on the Lake concert series.

The evening will feature a free performance by the 90s Jake Band from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m., offering a delightful blend of music and community spirit.

The concert series will continue every Thursday from June 11 through August 13, providing family-friendly entertainment in a picturesque outdoor setting.

Residents are encouraged to bring lawn chairs or blankets to enjoy the performances comfortably.

These developments underscore Kenosha County's dedication to fostering inclusive and safe environments for all residents.

The renovated Old Settlers Park playground stands as a testament to the community's commitment to ensuring that every child has the opportunity to play and thrive.
