Music venue in Kenosha, Wisconsin welcomes back audiences |
Experience live music and the unique atmosphere of this intimate listening room |
The White Lilac, a cherished music venue in downtown Kenosha, has triumphantly reopened its doors after an eight-month closure due to a structural setback.
In June 2025, a portion of the venue's exterior wall collapsed during routine inspections, leading to an immediate shutdown. Despite the daunting challenge, co-owner Kelly Mackay remained resolute in her commitment to revive the space.
With insurance claims falling through, the Kenosha community rallied together, raising over $26,000 to support the necessary repairs. Mackay expressed profound gratitude, stating, "The outpouring of help that we had from the community was such a blessing. We wouldn't have been able to do it without the donations that we received."
Now, The White Lilac is set to resume its role as an intimate listening room, offering audiences a unique connection with artists. Mackay emphasized the venue's distinctive atmosphere, noting, "When people come here, they're here for what's happening on the stage... You're engaged with the artist and the artist is engaged with the audience, and it's like a conversation happening."
The reopening is marked by a series of live performances, including a special concert titled "Unlucky In Love - A Valentine's Concert For Friday The 13th," scheduled for February 13, 2026. This event promises an evening of heartfelt music, celebrating the venue's return and the community's unwavering support.
For those eager to experience live music in a setting that fosters genuine artist-audience interaction, The White Lilac stands ready to welcome back patrons and performers alike. |
