Kenosha County Sheriff Helped Save Lives In Wadsworth Fire

Deputy Doris Carroll Helped Limit Damages

In the early hours of Saturday morning, an off-duty Kenosha County Sheriff's Deputy played a pivotal role in mitigating an overnight house fire in Wadsworth, Illinois.

At approximately 1:40 a.m., the deputy noticed flames emerging from a woodpile near a garage in the 39000 block of Mauser Drive.

Recognizing the imminent danger, she promptly contacted emergency services, ensuring that first responders arrived swiftly to the scene.

The rapid response facilitated the safe evacuation of the home's occupants before the fire could escalate.

Upon arrival, the Newport Township Fire Protection District found the fire had already caused moderate to heavy damage to three vehicles and had affected the home's siding.

Thanks to the deputy's quick actions, the fire was contained, preventing more extensive damage.

Fortunately, no injuries were reported among residents or emergency personnel.

The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.

This incident underscores the critical importance of vigilance and prompt action by both law enforcement and community members in emergency situations.

Such proactive measures can significantly reduce potential harm and property loss.
