Brighton Crash Claims One Life, Injures Two Others

A tragic accident occurred in the Town of Brighton, Wisconsin, on Thursday, January 22, resulting in one fatality and injuries to two others.

 

According to the Kenosha County Sheriff's Office, the incident took place around 4:11 p.m. in the 2400 block of County Highway BD.

 

A southbound Honda CR-V crossed the centerline and collided head-on with a northbound Ford Escape.

 

Subsequently, a Porsche Cayenne, also traveling southbound, was unable to avoid the collision and struck the Honda before veering off the road into a ditch.

 

The driver of the Honda, a 75-year-old man from Kenosha, was trapped in his vehicle and sustained life-threatening injuries.

 

Despite the efforts of first responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

 

The driver of the Ford was also trapped and suffered non-life-threatening injuries.

 

After being extricated, they were airlifted to a Milwaukee-area hospital via Flight for Life.

 

The Porsche's driver sustained non-life-threatening injuries and was transported to a local hospital by ambulance.

 

Preliminary investigations suggest that a medical emergency may have caused the Honda to cross the centerline.

 

Authorities have indicated that road conditions and vehicle speeds do not appear to be contributing factors.

 

The Kenosha County Major Crash Assistance Team is conducting a thorough investigation.

 

The roadway was closed for several hours to allow emergency responders to work the scene and gather evidence.

 

In a related note, this was the second three-vehicle crash in the Town of Brighton on the same day.

 

Earlier that morning, another collision occurred just before 7 a.m. in the 23000 block of State Highway 142, resulting in one driver being hospitalized.
