Top Stories From Last Week

Recent severe weather has left Kenosha residents facing significant wind and storm damage, especially to roofs.

Staying safe is the top priority—watch for downed power lines, broken glass, and unstable areas before inspecting your home.

Document all visible damage with photos and videos, as this evidence is crucial when you contact your insurance provider. Many insurers now accept digital submissions, making claims easier and faster.

Be cautious about hiring repair crews that show up unsolicited. "Storm chasers" often use high-pressure sales tactics and may not deliver quality work. Locals are advised to choose reputable Kenosha contractors with proven experience and trusted recommendations.

Before starting repairs, secure a detailed written contract and request lien waivers to avoid unexpected claims from subcontractors.

Regular home maintenance, like professional roof inspections and keeping gutters clear, can help prevent future damage during storms. Proactive steps ensure Kenosha homes remain safe and secure.

🥪 A Local Favorite: Why Morelli’s Deli Is a Hidden Gem in Kenosha

If you’re looking for a true neighborhood deli in Kenosha, Morelli’s Deli on 7th Avenue is a place many locals swear by. What started as a small corner store has grown into a community favorite known for its homemade food, friendly atmosphere, and old-school hospitality.

Morelli’s was purchased in 1998 by Ann and Tom Morelli, who turned the small neighborhood shop into a deli that locals now rely on for great sandwiches, soups, and quick grocery items.

Over the years, it has become more than just a place to grab lunch — it’s a spot where neighbors meet, regulars are greeted by name, and families stop in for comfort food made with care.

What Keeps People Coming Back

Morelli’s has built a loyal following thanks to its simple philosophy: good food and friendly service. Customers often rave about the deli’s Italian beef sandwiches, homemade soups, and fresh sandwiches made to order.

Some of the most popular menu items include:

  • Italian beef sandwiches

  • Homemade soups

  • Build-your-own deli sandwiches

  • Take-and-bake pizzas

  • Fresh guacamole, dips, and salsas

Everything is made with quality ingredients, and many of the recipes have become local favorites over the years.

A True Neighborhood Spot

One thing that makes Morelli’s special is the sense of community. The deli has served Kenosha residents for more than two decades, becoming a gathering place for locals and a go-to stop for visitors looking for a taste of the city.

Many customers say it feels like walking into a place where everyone knows each other — something that’s becoming harder to find these days.

Stop In and See for Yourself

Whether you’re grabbing lunch, picking up sandwiches for the family, or looking for a quick bite near the lakefront, Morelli’s Deli continues to be one of Kenosha’s beloved local spots.
